- Interview:
- Need to know about the institution (what they do; what they have done recently; how my work coincides with theirs etc..), which is not necessarily asked in the interview but useful to think about why I am suitable for that job; what contribution I can make to them etc.).
- Give a good description of my work (try to engage them so that they respond to me and my work)
- Be clear about what I want to do during the post (fellowship, lectureship etc.).
- Be concrete about what I want to do (and justify why my own research method is important and useful especially when the interview panel is not from my discipline).
- Emphasise the link with my previous work and the proposed project but it is also important to highlight my work is not just a continuation of my previous research, i.e. what I want to do during the post should also be a separate piece of work.
-
- show my interests in the institution. (make up at least one question to them.)
- There is no "correct" or "right" answer to the questions asked by the panel. But I need to show (a kind of)my engagement with the institution and with the job I want to take.
